Pas de retrouvailles Breaking Bad : Bryan Cranston et Aaron Paul nous ont bien eus

Tout ça pour nous vendre… du mezcal. On se sent quand même vachement trahi·e·s par ce teasing, qui nous laisse l’impression d’avoir été dupé·e·s. Pas vous, Bryan Cranston et Aaron Paul ! Pas vous ! Un peu de contexte s’impose : le 25 juin, les deux stars de Breaking Bad publiaient en simultané des tweets disant “Soon”, accompagnés d’une photo de deux ânes en sépia. 

Les fans commençaient à y voir le signe avant-coureur de possibles retrouvailles sur le film Breaking Bad. L’annonce semblait imminente, le teasing était redoutable, et on était suspendu·e·s aux prochains posts des deux acteurs. Une semaine pile après le premier tweet, ils postent une nouvelle photo d’eux traversant une rivière et légendée “Even sooner”.

Le décor rappelle la campagne mexicaine. Cette fois, c’était sûr, ils allaient nous révéler le retour de Walter White dans le film, sous la forme de flash-back ! Ou, le cas échéant, leur participation à Better Call Saul – ce serait chouette, aussi ! On s’y voyait déjà…

Three years ago we sat in a sushi bar in New York. Talking about life and what we could possibly do down the road together. We had the time of our lives while shooting Breaking Bad and truly built a very special bond. Knowing that we couldn’t share the screen for quite a while - our thoughts turned to a new project. We sipped cocktails and thought about what it should be. The younger one looked at his drink and said, you know what we should do? We should do a really special Mezcal. The older one said, you mean the liquor with a worm at the bottom? Nah, that was just some bullshit gimmick, I mean real, artesanal Mezcal made by hand in Mexico. After that dinner we couldn’t get the idea out of our heads. So, we started traveling to Oaxaca to see if we could find it, and we mean it had to be “it,” something so damn good even people who don’t think they like Mezcal will love it. It had to be perfect or we weren’t going to do it. We searched high and low all over Oaxaca, met incredible people along the way and after a beautiful yet grueling search throughout that majestic landscape we believed we may have found our place. Our Mezcal. It was on a dirt-road, in tiny village, hours away from the center of town, we found it and it was perfect. Holy shit it was perfect. We looked at each other and just simply nodded. This is it. We named it Dos Hombres - two guys on a quest. It’s been a long and crazy journey and we couldn’t be happier to share this with you and the rest of the world. La réalité est bien plus mercantile qu’on ne l’imaginait. Bryan Cranston et Aaron ont révélé ce mardi sur leur compte Instagram qu’ils lançaient officiellement leur marque de mezcal. Des photos les montrent dans des champs d’agave au Mexique, ou accoudés à une cuve de distillation.

Le nom du nectar ? Dos hombres. Le logo ? Deux ânes. Voilà : on s’est fait balader comme des sériephiles en manque et ce matin on se réveille avec une sacrée gueule de bois en découvrant la nouvelle. On a joué avec notre amour pour Breaking Bad pour nous vendre quelque chose. On ne nous y reprendra pas !

MAJ : Quoique… Il y a un twist ! Aaron Paul a rallumé la flamme en répondant à un fan déconfit par cette histoire de mezcal. Tout espoir n’est pas perdu.
