Moitié du mythique duo de rap new-yorkais Mobb Deep, Prodigy nous a quittés le 20 juin dernier des suites d’une drépanocytose, une maladie dont il souffrait depuis l’enfance.
Figure emblématique du hip-hop et du quartier new-yorkais de Queensbridge, Albert Johnson a marqué l’histoire du rap. Après avoir avoir lâché ses premiers freestyles avec Havoc sous l’étendard Mobb Deep sur les ondes de la radio Stretch & Bobbito en 1991, il collabora avec les plus grands : Ghostface Killa, Raekwon & Big Noyd, Dj Clue?, G-Unit, LL Cool J, Fat Joe, Foxy Brown, Keith Murray…
Retour sur vingt-six ans de carrière avec un mix hommage de Para One. R.I.P. Prodigy.
